Taking to the streets for a clean Oss on March 21st
On Saturday, March 21st, it's the National Cleanup Day. All over the Netherlands, people will go outside to pick up litter. Of course, we in Oss are participating too. With a small action, everyone can help to make the neighborhood cleaner.
Mayor and youth mayor set a good example
Mayor Froukje de Jonge and youth mayor Julia have already taken to the streets for a cleanup round. Mayor Froukje de Jonge: 'Many residents of Oss are committed throughout the year to keeping our municipality clean. I am very proud of that. On March 21st, everyone can participate. Together, we make our streets, parks, and squares tidy again.' Youth mayor and MikMakker Julia: 'It's actually very simple. If everyone cleans up a little bit, the whole neighborhood immediately looks better.'
Free materials for cleaners
Residents who want to help can borrow cleanup materials for free from the municipality. Think of litter pickers, bibs, gloves, and trash bags from Nederland Schoon. The materials are ready at the warehouse of the Ir Diddewerf, Singel 1940-1945 300 in Oss. The warehouse is open from Monday to Friday from 08:00 – 16:00 (closed between 12:30 – 13:00). No appointment is necessary. More information is available at www.oss.nl/litter.
Visit the litter exhibition in the town hall
From March 23rd to April 10th, there is a litter exhibition in the hall of the town hall. There you can see what litter often ends up on the street, what it does to nature, and what we can do ourselves to reduce litter. There are also special and historical finds to see. Feel free to stop by before or after your cleanup action.
A fresh start to spring
The National Cleanup Day is organized every year by Supporter of Schoon. You can participate with neighbors, friends, or family. Just taking a walk around can of course also help. Lend a hand and give Oss a fresh start to spring!
