Review of a successful Clean-Up Day in Putten
On Saturday, March 21, 2026, the National Clean-Up Day took place. An impressive group of 424 residents set out to give Putten a thorough spring cleaning. All participants received pickers, vests, and gloves from the municipality to get started.
Over 1,200 kilograms of waste
The results speak for themselves: more than 1,200 kilograms of litter were collected from streets, roadsides, and parks—ranging from cans and packaging to cigarette butts. The municipality of Putten extends its gratitude to all volunteers who helped tidy up our village.
Learning from an early age
It wasn’t just adults who contributed; the children from Ska Childcare also took part during National Clean-Up Week, setting out to collect waste. A fun and educational activity that concluded with a special moment: the children were allowed to throw their collected waste (a total of 30 kilograms) into the municipal waste truck themselves.
Associations lent a hand
As in previous years, many associations joined in to help. Among them were Neighbourhood Association Diermen, Neighbourhood Association Krachtighuizen, Stichting Grensverleggende Talenten, Group Arlersteeg, De Kraak, Hunting Association Volenbeek and surroundings, GGG Bijsteren, Group Huinen, and Scouting Kon-Tiki, all contributing to making Putten cleaner.
Our thanks go to everyone who helped make this year’s National Clean-Up Day a success!
