Tiles out, greenery in: together we ensure our green village
Municipality of Putten is known for its green character. We want to not only preserve it but strengthen it, for ourselves and for future generations.
That is why, starting March 19, we are once again participating in the final edition of the National Tile Removal Championship. A nationwide campaign that encourages residents to remove tiles from their gardens and replace them with plants, grass, or flowers. More greenery means better water absorption, cooler summers, and a pleasant, healthy living environment for everyone.
National Tile Removal Championship: join us for a climate-resilient future
Until October 31, every resident can contribute by removing tiles and submitting their score via the National Tile Removal Championship website. Over the past six years, more than 20 million tiles have been removed nationwide, creating around 360 football fields' worth of new greenery. This year, we hope to reach the milestone of 25 million tiles together. Every tile counts, so join in!
Tile Taxi: free help with disposal
To make it even easier, the Tile Taxi will be driving through the Municipality of Putten every last Thursday of the month from March to October. In October, there will also be an extra collection round on the 29th. You can request the taxi up to one week in advance and dispose of up to 25 square meters of tiles. When requesting, please send one photo of your garden before tile removal, and after greening, we would love to receive your second photo.
Free plants in exchange for tiles
Bring in 5 removed tiles (30x30 cm) at Welkoop Putten and receive free plants. This makes it even easier to green up your garden, and you’ll see immediate results.
Together, we ensure Putten remains green. A tradition we are proud of. Join us!
