Provisional results of the 2026 municipal council elections
13,345 residents of Voorschoten, representing a turnout of 66.11%, cast their votes in the municipal council elections on Wednesday, March 18. Immediately after the polls closed, polling station staff began manually counting the votes per list.
“Together, we can look back on a remarkable election day,” said Mayor Nadine Stemerdink. “Volunteers at the eighteen polling stations and municipal employees ensured everything ran smoothly throughout the day. Eighteen-year-olds voted for the first time. Residents with visual impairments used the tactile voting template at the Dorpskerk. Volunteers from Cirkelbus transported elderly residents to the polling station at Kasteel Duivenvoorde. Charles Groenhuijsen made the results evening at the Kruispuntkerk engaging. Clients from Zij aan Zij served homemade snacks there. And Centraal+ provided live coverage. Many thanks to everyone involved!”
