Rental apartments in former dairy factory in Beneden-Leeuwen
The former dairy factory on Van Heemstraweg near the roundabout with Veesteeg in Beneden-Leeuwen will get a new purpose after years of vacancy. Initiator TIBO Vastgoed and the municipality of West Maas en Waal recently signed an agreement.
Affordable rental apartments
The building will house 11 rental apartments. These apartments fall within the social rental segment. Therefore, this redevelopment meets the demand for affordable rental housing. The great thing is that all apartments have their own outdoor space.
This plan also contributes to the beautification of the village entrance of Beneden-Leeuwen.
Deputy mayor Marieke van den Boom: ‘With this development, the long-vacant building along Van Heemstraweg is finally being put to use. The plan contributes to both the affordable housing supply and the spatial quality of our municipality.’
Design plan
The plan is public and everyone can view the documents. The municipal council is expected to make a decision on the adoption of the plan in the second quarter of 2026.
