New tram connections in Amstelveen from 29 March
From Sunday 29 March, the tram routes in Amstelveen will change.
Line 25 extends further into Amsterdam
- Tram line 25 will continue to run between Uithoorn and Amsterdam, but Amsterdam Zuid station will no longer be its starting or ending point
- The tram will enter Amsterdam via the former route of tram line 3, passing OLVG Oost and Oosterpark. It will then continue via Amsterdam Muiderpoort station to its new starting and ending point at Flevopark
- Line 25 will no longer operate with coupled tram units. The trams will therefore be smaller. As a result, an additional line will be introduced during weekday peak hours: tram line 6
New: Tram line 6
- Runs between Westwijk (Amstelveen) and Amsterdam Zuid station
- On weekdays, tram line 6 will operate during the morning and evening peak hours. This tram will always run just before tram line 25
- Morning peak hour timetable:
- From Westwijk between 7:19 AM and 9:09 AM
- From Amsterdam Zuid station between 7:46 AM and 9:36 AM
- Evening peak hour timetable:
- From Westwijk between 3:31 PM and 5:52 PM
- From Amsterdam Zuid station between 3:59 PM and 6:20 PM
- This will result in the following peak hour frequencies:
- 12 trams per hour from Westwijk
- 18 trams per hour from Oranjebaan towards Amsterdam Zuid station
No changes to tram line 5
There are no changes to tram line 5.
