Apeldoorn rewards two new resident initiatives
The municipality of Apeldoorn is supporting two new initiatives by residents: the expansion of the playground at Van Haeftenpark and the construction of a new trim trail in Berg & Bos park. Alderperson for resident participation Anja Prins visited the initiators in person on Friday, March 27, to congratulate them. “We believe it’s important that you can contribute ideas and get involved in your neighbourhood. Your ideas make Apeldoorn more beautiful, more enjoyable, and more social. That’s why we support good plans with subsidies.”
Two local residents from Van Haeftenpark independently came up with the same idea: improving the playground in the neighbourhood and turning it into a pleasant meeting place. Through the neighbourhood manager and initiative facilitator, they got in touch with each other. Together, they further developed the plan. Other residents were also enthusiastic, so they submitted a subsidy application, which was assessed and approved. The playground will be expanded with new play equipment. Once the playground is ready, residents will organise a festive opening.
New trim trail in Berg & Bos park
A trim association submitted a plan for a new trim trail in Berg & Bos park. A trim trail is like an outdoor gym. Together with the park manager and initiative facilitator, a suitable location in the park was identified. The plans were positively assessed, so a new trim trail with various equipment will be built. The association hopes the trail will be ready in time for its 60th anniversary in September.
Apeldoorn believes it’s important for residents to contribute to our municipality with ideas that make Apeldoorn a little more beautiful, more enjoyable, better, or more social. That’s why there are several schemes for getting involved or sharing ideas. These two initiatives fall under the Resident Initiatives Subsidy Scheme, which is intended for larger initiatives. These are applications exceeding €5,000, for which you can apply twice a year: by May 31 and December 31. For initiatives up to €5,000, you can apply all year round.
