Do you experience waterlogging in your garden after heavy rainfall? Or does your garden become excessively warm in summer due to paving and stones? With a few small adjustments, you can already reduce these issues. At the KlimaatKeet, you can get tips for this.
Good news: in April, the KlimaatKeet will be back in our municipality. Here, you’ll find inspiration and practical tips to make your garden more resilient to heavy rain and hot summers. Consider a rain barrel, disconnecting your downspout, or replacing paving with greenery. This way, rainwater can better soak into the ground, and your garden stays cooler.
Currently, much of the rainwater still flows into the sewer. During heavy downpours, the sewer can become overloaded, causing dirt to end up in ditches and streams. It’s better to capture rainwater in your own garden.
Disconnecting a downspout is often easy and inexpensive. Additionally, the municipality offers subsidies for measures such as a rain barrel, removing paving, or installing a green roof.
