Invitation: Workshop Environmental Vision on Thursday, April 9 and Monday, April 13
Wednesday, March 11, 2026
What will the living environment in the municipality of Beesel look like in 2050? This question is central to the development of the new environmental vision. The environmental vision is about the future of the villages, hamlets, and the landscape. It will take some time before we get there, but it is important to start thinking about the future of Beesel now.
The environmental vision of the municipality of Beesel is developed in several phases. Earlier, we already started the conversation about the qualities, opportunities, and challenges for the living environment. We also discussed the course of Beesel towards 2050. This course has now been established by the municipal council. In the current phase, we will elaborate on the established course into concrete choices for different areas: the villages, the work locations, and the rural area.
Workshop for everyone: residents, entrepreneurs, and interest groups
We are organizing 2 meetings to discuss with you the set course and related choices for the villages, work locations, and the rural area. We cordially invite you to one of the 2 meetings:
When: Thursday, April 9Time: 7:00 – 9:00 PM (arrival from 6:45 PM)Where: Sporthal de SchansFocus: villages and work locations
When: Monday, April 13Time: 7:00 – 9:00 PM (arrival from 6:45 PM)Where: De SchakelFocus: rural area
We start both meetings with a short presentation about the main choices and the process. Then we will split up into groups to discuss each area in more depth. During the arrival, before the meetings, you can view the maps and the main choices. This way, you will get a first impression.
Both evenings will have the same information, and we will discuss all 3 areas. However, the focus will be different each evening: on Thursday, April 9, the focus will be more on the villages and work locations. On Monday, April 13, the focus will be more on the rural area. Therefore, different experts will be present on Thursday than on Monday.
The results of the discussions will be included in the drafting of the draft environmental vision.

Follow-up
The plan is to have a draft environmental vision ready by the summer of 2026. The draft environmental vision will then be available for public inspection for 6 weeks. During this period, everyone can view the documents and respond to them. Such a response is called an objection. The municipality reviews the responses and assesses whether they result in an adjustment to the environmental vision. Subsequently, the municipal council makes a decision about the environmental vision.
