Use your parking disc in the blue zone
The centre of Beuningen is popular with visitors. That’s good news. But it also means that more and more people want to park their cars there. And that isn’t always possible anymore. That’s why we are working to reduce parking pressure. After all, the centre needs to remain attractive and accessible to everyone: residents, visitors and shopkeepers alike.
A car parked in the blue zone may stay there for two hours. Unfortunately, we notice that not all visitors comply with this rule. That’s why we will be checking more frequently whether the parking disc is being used correctly in the blue zone. Anyone who parks for too long is denying others the chance to park close to a shop.
National basic rules; local exceptions
The basic rules for the parking disc are the same throughout the Netherlands. In the blue zone (recognisable by sign E10 and the blue line), you must use a parking disc. This only applies to motor vehicles with more than two wheels. As a municipality, we may only deviate from the national rules if we indicate this with signs. For example, this could involve exemptions for local residents or the times during which the parking disc must be visible behind the windscreen.
Setting the parking disc
Set the disc to the next full or half hour after you arrive. If you park in the blue zone, for example, at 10.05 a.m., set the parking disc to 10.30 a.m. You may round up to the next half hour. In this example, your vehicle must be removed by 12.30 p.m. at the latest. After all, the maximum parking time in the blue zone is two hours. This does not apply to people with a disabled parking permit.
The parking disc must be placed behind the windscreen and be clearly legible from outside.
When you must use the parking disc
- Monday to Thursday from 9.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m.
- Friday from 9.00 a.m. to 9.00 p.m.
- Saturday from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
Outside these times:
- You do not need to use a parking disc
- And the maximum parking time of 2 hours does not apply
Our enforcement officers carry out their duties on our behalf. This includes checking whether the parking disc is being used correctly. They are fully aware of the applicable rules. If everyone complies with them, we can avoid discussions and fines! That way, we can all keep the centre accessible and pleasant for everyone.
