Tobias van Elferen to lead exploration for new coalition
Nijmegen alderman Tobias van Elferen will serve as the explorer for the new coalition in our municipality.
Beuningen Nu en Morgen, the party that won last week's municipal elections, announced his name this evening. Van Elferen will engage in discussions with all parties represented in our municipal council. They will be able to indicate, among other things, which key themes they prioritize and with which parties they wish to cooperate. Following these consultations, Van Elferen will draft an advisory report to guide the next steps in coalition formation.
Six parties
Seven parties participated in last week's elections. Six of them secured at least one seat: BN&M (7), VVD (5), CDA (4), GroenLinks/PvdA (3), D66 (1), and Vier Beuningen (1). The SP failed to win a seat. As a result, the new municipal council will consist of six parties.
New municipal council
The installation of the new municipal council will take place on April 1. The outgoing council will bid farewell the day before.
