Holiday Games at new event site
Over the past few months, the Holiday Games Working Group has been hard at work organizing the event at the new location – the site behind Bodegraafse Bos along Burgemeester Kremerweg. A great deal needs to be done to ensure the event is well-organized and safe for the children in our municipality.
The drawings, created in consultation with the municipality, for the layout inside and around the forest are complete. A plan has been drawn up with the municipality and province for the logistics at the site to welcome children safely into Bodegraafse Bos. It also includes how emergency services can access the site if necessary.
Based on these drawings, an eco-friendly path will be laid through the forest. The tent for the youngest children will be set up next to the forest, while the hut-building activities for the older children will take place behind the forest. As always, the event will conclude with a festive parade and a large bonfire at the end of the week, which will neatly clear away all the wooden huts that have been built.
Parents and children are, as always, welcome to watch the bonfire from the new event site! The accompanying map shows the layout of the Holiday Games site.
Save the date!
The Holiday Games Working Group announces that they are looking forward to the upcoming edition at this new site. And just as importantly, they announce that volunteer registration will open on 16 May 2026 with a fun evening at De Zon. Registration for children will open online on 20 May 2026 via the Holiday Games website.
