Successful car-sharing scheme expanded in Boekel
The car-sharing scheme in the municipality of Boekel has proven to be a success. More and more residents are making use of it. For this reason, the initiative is being expanded. In addition to the existing shared car, a second vehicle will be added on a trial basis by the end of 2026.
The second shared car will be presented on Wednesday, April 1, at 1:30 PM on Sint Agathaplein. Wethouder Matt Kanters and representatives from O2Share and the Province of North Brabant will be present.
Trial with second shared car in Boekel
Made possible by the province
The extension of the first shared car and, consequently, the trial with a second shared car have been made possible in part by financial support from the Province of North Brabant. The second car will remain available at least until the end of 2026. After that, another evaluation will take place.
Greater availability means more reliability
An important advantage of a second shared car is that users no longer have to worry about missing out when the car is already reserved. With two vehicles, availability increases, making shared mobility even more attractive.
Reserving via app
Both shared cars will soon be located on Meester van Hooffstraat and can be easily reserved via the O2Share app. Residents can thus use a (second) car without having to own one themselves. This not only saves costs but also contributes to more sustainable transport and reduced parking pressure.
