Councillor Kanters launches construction project Schutboom
On Monday 9 March, housing corporation PeelrandWonen, construction company Hendriks Coppelmans and councillor Matt Kanters celebrated the start of construction on the new Schutboom project in Boekel. Councillor Matt Kanters, Karin Priem-Mens (Managing Director of PeelrandWonen) and René Beks (Director of Development & Innovation at Hendriks Coppelmans) symbolically assisted in laying the foundation. The homes are expected to be completed by the end of this year.
Sustainable and affordable housing
In the Schutboom expansion district on the western edge of Boekel, 21 social rental homes will be built. The homes are zero-on-the-meter: they generate as much energy as they consume. This allows future residents to live comfortably with low energy costs. The project consists of 9 single-family homes and 12 ground-floor/upper-floor homes. The ground-floor homes are suitable for all stages of life and feature a garden. The upper-floor homes have two living levels and two bedrooms.
Sustainable collaboration
Councillor Matt Kanters is pleased with the progress of the project: “With these homes, we are taking another important step towards adding affordable and sustainable housing in Boekel. Thanks to the excellent collaboration with PeelrandWonen and Hendriks Coppelmans, we can continue building a future for our residents.”
