Launch of the De Bevelanden Regional Portal
The five municipalities of Bevelanden – Borsele, Goes, Kapelle, Noord-Beveland and Reimerswaal – launched on Thursday afternoon, March 5, during a networking event at Seafarm in Kamperland the new De Bevelanden regional portal. This portal aims to put the region on the map more prominently and make it more attractive.
Deputy Mayor Stephan van Belzen (Municipality of Noord-Beveland) opened the event and emphasized the strong turnout, which demonstrates that the ambition to put Bevelanden on the map is widely supported. “We have been working on this ambition for some time, and thanks to a subsidy from Interreg Beleefbare Schelde, we are now taking real steps,” he said.
Entrepreneurs, municipalities, and marketing experts have been working intensively over the past period to develop the portal. The launch of the regional portal is a milestone where many initiatives come together. Van Belzen: “In a way, we are all contributing – entrepreneurs, municipalities, organizations, and residents – to putting Bevelanden on the map. Today, many of those puzzle pieces come together, resulting in the portal going live.”
During the event, entrepreneurs were invited to contribute ideas for various actions in the annual program, including a culinary travel guide to De Bevelanden, the Zilt Zoet Zeeland Foodtrail, and the Zilt Zoet calendar. The development of a practical toolkit for entrepreneurs and hospitality guidance was also discussed.
Deputy Mayor Joost de Goffau (Municipality of Goes) concluded with a reflection on the launch and exploration of the regional portal. He thanked attendees for their contributions and gave a preview of the next meeting. During that event, the toolkit for entrepreneurs will be launched, and the hospitality course will also begin. De Goffau: “I hope that, together with the region, we have successfully filled the thematic annual calendar and that we can further expand it towards 2027!” The regional portal is now available at: www.debevelanden.nl (link is external)
