On 25 March, Alderman Maier attended the signing of the agreement for the community centre ’t Klokhuis.
That evening, a ‘Old and New’ meeting was held in the municipality. Around 60 members of BouwBiz Rivierenland came to the municipality of Buren to attend the event. The participants of the regional platform were present to share knowledge and exchange ideas in the construction sector. Networking in the ‘old’ town hall and a visit to the ‘new’ location were a perfect fit for this meeting!
The construction of the new, sustainable town hall is in full swing, and the final result is becoming increasingly visible. The town hall, which will blend into the green park, is set to be completed this summer.
Alderman Karl Maier and project leader Dirk Miltenburg guided the group through the process and the choices made to arrive at this design. Architecture firm cepezed also gave the participants a tour of the building, which was designed not as a traditional town hall but as an open and accessible ‘house of the municipality’.
René Wiersema then outlined the plans by Thius to transform the current town hall into 77 social rental apartments.
