Information evening on natural burial ground in Ruinen
Municipality De Wolden is working on the development of a natural burial ground near the existing cemeteries in Ruinen.
With this plan, the municipality aims to meet the growing desire among residents to be buried in their own municipality at a natural burial ground.
To involve residents, funeral directors and other stakeholders in the further development of the plans, the municipality is organising an information evening on 14 April from 19:30 to 21:30 at De Poort in Ruinen.
During this meeting, we will explain what natural burial entails and provide an outline of the plan. The creation of the final design will be a co-creation process, inviting stakeholders (local residents, nature managers, future users and authorities) to actively contribute ideas on integrating a burial ground into the landscape, with the aim of enhancing nature, biodiversity and public accessibility. There will also be ample opportunity to ask questions and meet landscape advisors Ada Willigen, Luc van Dam and councillor Albert Haar.
