Commissioner of the King Daniël Wigboldus has asked acting mayor Hofland to remain in this position after mayor Loes van der Meijs-van de Laar, following a period of illness, has decided not to return to her post and has bid farewell as mayor.
Arco Hofland was appointed acting mayor on March 10, 2025, after mayor Van der Meijs-van de Laar was unable to fulfill her duties for an extended period due to illness.
