Sustainable Duizel Construction Board Unveiled
This morning, Alderman Jeanne Adriaans, together with Jurgen van Uijthoven (owner of JvU Aannemingsbedrijf) and Frans Renders of the Duizel Village Council, officially unveiled the construction board for Sustainable Duizel. With this symbolic act, another step has been taken toward the project's implementation.
Start of Work
After Easter, in early April, work will commence in Duizel. Initially, utility companies will begin their tasks, followed by the replacement of the sewer system.
What Will We Do?
Part of Duizel’s sewer system is outdated. The municipality of Eersel will replace it over the coming years. A new, separate sewer system will be installed, meaning rainwater will no longer be directed to the wastewater treatment plant. This will, among other things, help combat drought.
Additionally, work will be carried out on cables and pipelines. Existing greenery will be enhanced to reduce heat stress and increase biodiversity. Where possible, materials such as reclaimed bricks will be reused. These measures will make Duizel progressively more sustainable.
More Information and Communication
