Waste Cleanup Day 2026 a Great Success
A total of 50 full bags of waste! That was the result of this year’s Ermelose Waste Cleanup Day. On Saturday, March 14, 120 volunteers scoured Ermelo to pick up litter. Armed with grabbers and trash bags, they enthusiastically tackled the task in various neighborhoods.
In just a few hours, a significant amount of waste disappeared from the streets. While the amount of litter is fortunately slowly decreasing, cleanup efforts remain essential to keep the village tidy. The volunteers made a fine contribution to this effort last Saturday. Afterward, they were treated to a cozy and delicious lunch.
Deputy Mayor Ronald van Veen is pleased with the volunteers’ involvement: “It’s wonderful to see people of all ages pitching in to keep Ermelo clean. Together, we’ve achieved a great result. At the same time, I hope that cleanup days like this won’t be necessary in the future, because littering is simply not acceptable. If everyone takes responsibility for their own waste, Ermelo will stay clean and pleasant to live in.”
The Waste Cleanup Day was organized by the Municipality of Ermelo, the Ermelo Livability Team, and Uwoon. On behalf of the entire organizing committee, we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the volunteers for their efforts.
