New municipal council for Goeree-Overflakkee installed
On Wednesday evening, 1 April 2026, the new municipal council for the municipality of Goeree-Overflakkee was installed. The 31 councillors will now work for the next four years to represent the interests of all residents.
The installation marks the beginning of a new term of office, during which the council will focus on key themes such as the energy transition, quality of life, economic development and social cohesion.
Mayor Ada Grootenboer-Dubbelman addressed the new council, emphasising the importance of collaboration: “As a municipal council, you will make decisions that affect the lives of our residents. This requires not only commitment, reliability and competence, but above all collaboration. Treating each other with respect and working together to find solutions is the key to gaining and maintaining the trust of our residents.”
The council consists of 31 members from eight political parties. The members are:
