Launch of the De Bevelanden Regional Portal
The five municipalities of Bevelanden – Borsele, Goes, Kapelle, Noord-Beveland, and Reimerswaal – launched the new De Bevelanden regional portal on Thursday afternoon, March 5, during a networking event at Seafarm in Kamperland. The portal aims to put the region on the map more prominently and make it more attractive.
Deputy Stephan van Belzen (Municipality of Noord-Beveland) opened the event and highlighted the strong turnout, which demonstrates that the ambition to put Bevelanden on the map is widely supported. “We have been working toward this goal for some time, and thanks to a subsidy from Interreg Beleefbare Schelde, we are now taking real steps,” he said.
Entrepreneurs, municipalities, and marketing experts have worked intensively over the past period to develop the portal. The launch of the regional portal marks a milestone where many initiatives come together.
During the event, entrepreneurs were invited to contribute ideas for various actions in the annual program, including a culinary travel guide to De Bevelanden, the Zilt Zoet Zeeland Foodtrail, and the Zilt Zoet calendar. The development of a practical toolkit for entrepreneurs and hospitality training was also discussed.
Deputy Joost de Goffau (Municipality of Goes) concluded with a reflection on the launch and exploration of the regional portal. He thanked attendees for their contributions and gave a preview of the next meeting, during which the toolkit for entrepreneurs will be launched and the hospitality course will begin.
I hope that, together with the region, we have successfully filled the thematic annual calendar and can further expand it toward 2027!
Joost de Goffau

Collaboration in De Bevelanden
The five municipalities in Bevelanden – Borsele, Goes, Kapelle, Noord-Beveland, and Reimerswaal – are increasingly working together. By jointly planning and implementing initiatives, the region can achieve more. This is important because we face major challenges together, such as sufficient housing, jobs, an attractive living environment, and a sustainable future.
That is why the municipalities have strengthened their collaboration. The new covenant, which came into effect on March 1, 2025, includes clear agreements on how we will move forward together. In this way, we are building a strong, vibrant region where it is pleasant to live, work, and visit.
Experience Action Line for Bevelanden
The Experience Action Line is one of the four action lines under the Collaboration in Bevelanden initiative. This action line focuses on strengthening the region as an attractive destination for residents and visitors. The goal is to put De Bevelanden on the map more prominently by jointly investing in regional marketing, hospitality, and profiling. This means that municipalities, along with entrepreneurs, organizations, and residents, are working on projects and initiatives to enhance and reinforce the region’s appeal. The realization of projects such as the regional portal is made possible in part by financial contributions from Interreg (Be)leefbare Schelde.
