René Lazeroms appointed informateur in the municipality of Halderberge
Following consultations with the other parties, Thomas Melisse, lead candidate for the local VVD, has appointed René Lazeroms, alderman in the municipality of Rucphen, as informateur.
This week, Melisse and Lazeroms will hold individual discussions with the seven parties. The aim of these talks is to jointly interpret the election results and guide the informateur’s role. After the individual meetings, a public clarification debate will take place on April 2, 2026.
Thomas Melisse: “The voters of Halderberge have placed their trust in us; during the informational phase, we are not seeking differences but rather broad support in a positive atmosphere with the council and executive board.”
Melisse, currently an alderman in Halderberge, describes the choice of René Lazeroms as logical: Lazeroms, as an alderman from outside, maintains sufficient distance from local dynamics. Additionally, he has extensive experience in coalition formation and political negotiations and serves as an alderman in a neighboring municipality where similar political-administrative issues arise as in Halderberge.
René Lazeroms: “I consider it an honor to be asked to serve as informateur. With an open mind and firm convictions, I look forward to exploring how the parties in Halderberge can lay a solid foundation for the upcoming administrative term.”
