Learn to browse the internet safely
On April 2 from 10:00 to 12:00, Bibliotheek Hardenberg will host a special training session on safe internet use. Would you like to know how to protect yourself against digital fraud and online crime? Then join the interactive theater show ‘Echt Niet Vandaag!’ (Not Today!). During this event, you’ll watch short plays that clearly and understandably teach you how to recognize phishing, fake emails, scam calls, and other online traps. The show is both educational and fun to follow. The library is organizing this activity in collaboration with Politie Nederland (Dutch Police).
Action Day Against Digital Crime
The theater show is part of the national ‘Echt niet vandaag’ (Not Today) Action Day. This is an annual event across the Netherlands that raises extra awareness about digital crime.
The goals of this day are:
- to make people more aware of online dangers
- to prevent victims
- to encourage people to report digital crime
Digital fraud is common. In 2024, no fewer than 2.4 million Dutch people fell victim to it. That’s about 6,500 people per day.
