Call from Hardinxveld-Giessendam municipality: what kind of artwork would you envision at the IJzergieterij?
The development of the IJzergieterij site into a residential area is nearing completion. It’s time for the final touches, such as the installation of an artwork on the square in front of the apartment buildings – known as Het Podium. Do you have suggestions or inspiration for the artist? We’d love to hear them!
Please send your ideas by Tuesday, April 14 at the latest.
Residents of Hardinxveld-Giessendam should be able to meet each other at this beautiful location – which also includes the adjacent stretch of dyke between the connections to Tiendweg and Rivierdijk – and enjoy the view of the river. Whether as part of a stroll, a bike ride, or simply as a destination to spend pleasant time. The aim is to make it one of Hardinxveld-Giessendam’s ‘calling cards.’
History, flora, fauna…
Following an extensive survey and consultation, it was decided, among other things, to commission an artwork for Het Podium. This will happen in the coming months, but not without input from the residents of Hardinxveld-Giessendam. This input is not about who should create the artwork, but rather about inspiring the artist. What would you like to see there? Connections to history or not? With nature? A tribute to Hardinxveld-Giessendam and its residents?
All suggestions can be submitted and will be shared with the artist. The artist will then create proposals from which the municipal executive board (college van B&W) will ultimately make a selection.
