Information market on the new Environmental Vision
The municipality of Heerenveen is currently updating the current Environmental Vision from 2021. On Thursday, 9 April 2026, the municipality of Heerenveen will organise an information market on this topic. The information market will take place from 19:30 to 20:30 in the council chamber of the town hall in Heerenveen.
What is the Environmental Vision?
The Environmental Vision is the municipality’s future plan. It outlines how we intend to manage housing, traffic, green spaces, sustainability and amenities in the coming years. It is not a fixed construction plan, but rather a direction: what do we want our living environment to look like in 10 to 20 years?
What will the information market cover?
Before the vision is updated, we will first examine the effects of possible choices on the environment. This is done in an Environmental Impact Report (OER). The Scope and Detail Level Note (NRD) outlines how this research will be conducted and which topics will be included. From Friday, 20 March 2026 to Thursday, 30 April 2026, the NRD will be available for inspection (Documents available for inspection – Municipality of Heerenveen).
The information market will focus on the Scope and Detail Level Note (NRD) for the Environmental Impact Report (OER) for the Environmental Vision of Heerenveen.
What is on the programme?
During the information market, there will be three tables:
- A table where you can obtain information about the update of the Environmental Vision.
- A table where you can obtain information about the research approach.
- A table where you can submit a response to the NRD (in writing or verbally).
You are very welcome
Do you have questions about the Environmental Vision, would you like more information or would you like to submit your response? We look forward to seeing you on Thursday, 9 April between 19:30 and 20:30 in the council chamber! You can report to the reception desk at the town hall.
