Launch campaign ‘Just go green’
Monday, March 16, 2026
Going green should be very normal, and for everyone. But how do you do that, ‘Just go green’? We spoke to a number of residents of Helmond about how they do this. You can read their stories in weekly newspaper De Loop, on social media, and on the website of Heel Helmond Duurzaam.
One of the interviewees is Judith. In a characteristic building on Kerkstraat, she has been running a place that she now affectionately calls an Art Café for three years: “If I say shop or studio, it’s always only half right. Since the ‘Art Café’ sign has been hanging outside, people immediately understand what they can find here.”
And there is a lot to find: an art shop, framing service, creative workshops, and a completely allergen-free lunch menu. “A place where creativity and going green reinforce each other.”
Not perfect, but aware
Judith emphasizes that sustainability doesn’t have to be a competition. “I am absolutely not a saint. I sometimes eat a piece of meat. But then something I know the animal had a good life. I think I live so consciously because I want to leave the world more beautiful than I found it.”
Green Tip from Judith
“Appreciate the products that are already there. Don’t think about the scratch on the table, but about the evening it got there. For example, because it was such a nice game night. Or look differently at the product, because your mother or grandmother still used it. This way you buy less, have more appreciation, and there are all kinds of stories in and around your home.”
