We may ask for a valid ID and/or environmental pass. Don’t forget to bring it.
Meerlanden thanks residents
Meerlanden thanks you for separating GFT-e. With your help, we produce high-quality compost that nourishes the soil of (kitchen) gardens. It’s a natural way to keep your garden healthy. From green waste, Meerlanden produces six useful products:
- Green gas – fuel for our vehicles
- CO₂ – plant growth enhancer
- Heat – for greenhouse horticulture
- Compost – soil improver
- Water – for street cleaning, weed control, and gritters
- Citrus fuel – sustainable weed control
Important: mix compost with soil
Compost is a soil improver, not garden soil. Never plant directly into pure compost. Always mix the compost with (garden) soil. This ensures plants receive the right nutrients and structure to grow well.
