On September 1, 1995, Wim Everts joined the Sevenum fire brigade, and on January 1, 2026, he retired. Mr. Everts has served the community of Sevenum and its surroundings for 30 years. He began as a probationary firefighter and subsequently completed various training courses, enabling him to be appointed to positions including firefighter, commander, driver/pump operator, WVD (Warning and Reconnaissance Service, now known as VKE - Reconnaissance Unit), training leader, and prevention control officer. Mr. Everts also served as post commander. He led the post for 9 years and was always ready to assist with advice and action. He is not easily flustered and is known for his dry and sharp sense of humor.
