The municipality of Kerkrade is investing €2 million in a major redevelopment of parking lot P5, located next to the Leisuredome on the Rodaboulevard. This investment aims to enhance the accessibility, traffic safety, and appeal of the Rodaboulevard.
The arrival of a new hotel next to the Leisuredome will further increase parking and traffic pressure on the Rodaboulevard. “The Rodaboulevard attracts over 7 million visitors annually. To maintain this successful formula, it is essential that we continue investing in a safe, green, and well-accessible environment,” says Alderman Alexander Geers (Economic Affairs).
The redevelopment plan focuses not only on functionally improving the parking lot but also on enhancing the quality of the outdoor space. In the previously paved environment of the Rodaboulevard, the area will be greened, made more heat-resistant, and visually more attractive.
