Mayor Hans Beenakker takes action during NLdoet
On the morning of Friday, March 13, around 9 o’clock, Mayor Hans Beenakker was ready to participate in the NLdoet activities in the garden of the Amadeus House. Together with a group of volunteers, he contributed to renovating and making the garden safer—a place where residents spend much of their time in spring and summer.
Spring refresh
The existing plants had grown too tall, causing them to topple over and sometimes block the pathway. Since the facility houses people with dementia, it is important to minimize fall risks as much as possible.
The terrace and garden are now clean and tidy thanks to a thorough spring cleaning. With the help of volunteers, the garden has been refreshed and redesigned, allowing residents to enjoy a safe, peaceful, and stimulating outdoor environment.
National volunteer action
Every year in March, the Oranje Fonds organizes this large-scale volunteer event. NLdoet highlights voluntary efforts and, through a public campaign, encourages as many Dutch people as possible to spend a day doing volunteer work and making a difference.
