On Wednesday 1 April 2026, the municipal councillors elected in the elections on 18 March 2026 were installed. Mayor and chair of the municipal council Lianne van der Aa said: "I am really looking forward to starting this term of office with this new team. We face plenty of challenges in the coming years, such as the municipality’s financial situation and the scale-up in the Brainport region. This will require careful consideration and choices. I have every confidence that the council will handle this well, in consultation with residents, entrepreneurs and organisations in Laarbeek."
