News item March 20, 2026
Our colleague Jeffrey Keus has informed the municipal council that he is stepping down as alderman with immediate effect. We deeply regret this decision. Over the past four years, we have enjoyed excellent collaboration and made significant strides for the future of our municipality.
During the past four years, he has been closely involved in complex dossiers. He served as alderman for youth and education, accessibility and mobility, innovation, and recreation. He was a dedicated administrator who passionately committed himself to the municipality. In addition, he was also active as an administrator for the Rotterdam The Hague Metropolitan Area (MRDH), advocating for better and more affordable public transport.
As an executive board, we respect his decision and thank him for his dedication, contributions, and the pleasant collaboration during the past council term.
The portfolios of Alderman Keus will be redistributed and taken over within the executive board.
The executive board of mayor and aldermen,
Martijn Vroom, Astrid van Eekelen, Bianca Bremer, Marcel Belt and Philip van Veller
