Royal honour for Mrs Luiten-Wensveen
On Sunday afternoon, 29 March 2026, a special event took place at Dorpspunt in Stompwijk: during the 10-year anniversary of Stichting Oud Stompwijk, Mrs Luiten-Wensveen received a royal honour from Mayor Vroom. Her appointment as Member of the Order of Orange-Nassau is a recognition of her many years of voluntary work and her role in fostering community spirit in Stompwijk.

“Mrs Luiten-Wensveen is deeply involved in the Stompwijk community, making an important contribution to strengthening social cohesion. With this honour, we express our great appreciation for everything she means to the village,” said Mayor Vroom.
Mrs Luiten-Wensveen is a co-founder and vice-chair of Stichting Oud Stompwijk. She coordinates the collection, organisation and digitisation of Stompwijk’s history and regularly writes historical articles. She has also been the driving force behind the women’s association Stompwijk – Vrouw Actief for many years, serving as secretary and host. At Jetty’s Eettafel, she ensures warmth and connection during shared meals, with special attention for the elderly and those living alone.
She writes articles for the Dorpsketting and supports numerous village initiatives. In addition to these regular activities, Mrs Luiten-Wensveen has been involved in the JART tennis tournament for 25 years. During the coronavirus period, she brought light into dark times with her own poems and chocolate hearts, and offered personal attention to vulnerable villagers.
