New step forward for apartments on Nassaustraat
On March 17, the municipal executive board took an important step in the plans for new homes on Nassaustraat 25. The board proposes to issue the so-called ‘Declaration of No Objection’ and adopt the response note to the received feedback. If the council agrees with the proposal, the environmental permit for the construction of the apartments can be granted at the location of the former post office. This building has been vacant for a long time and will be demolished. At the end of 2023, a developer applied for an environmental permit to build two apartment complexes on this site.
Councilor Langeveld is pleased with this plan. It means an old vacant building will make way for much-needed housing. Moreover, it will significantly improve the appearance of the center of Lisse.
Construction plan adjusted following feedback
From June 5 to July 16, 2024, the plans were open for public inspection. Anyone could submit feedback during this period. A total of 10 objections were received. The municipality collected and addressed these responses in a special note. Due to the feedback, parts of the construction plan have been adjusted by the developer:
- The façade design of the plan on the side facing Prins Hendrikstraat has been modified.
- The adjusted plan now includes 46 apartments, two more than previously planned.
- The car lift in the underground parking garage has been replaced by a ramp.
Additionally, the justification for the plan and the conditions for the permit have been improved. The developer must submit a plan to the municipality prior to execution, outlining measures to ensure accessibility, livability, safety, and communication during construction. For the plan, drilling piles will be used to minimize the risk of damage and nuisance to the surrounding area.
Municipal council still needs to decide
This topic is on the agenda of the municipal council meeting on April 23. If the council approves the proposal, the environmental permit for the construction of the apartments can be granted.
With the construction of the apartments, this unsightly spot on the edge of the center can regain a representative appearance, and 46 households will be provided with a good place to live.
