Lochem Knows About Water and Green Offers Tips at the Market
Are you visiting one of the weekly markets on Wednesday, April 8 in Lochem, Tuesday, April 14 in Harfsen, or the special green market on May 9 in Gorssel? Then stop by the people from Lochem Knows About Water and Green. In April – Green Garden Month – they will have great tips and information on how to make your garden and neighborhood greener!
This marks the start of the annual spring climate campaign in the municipality of Lochem. The campaign is linked to Green Garden Month. The market visits replace the Garden Inspiration Days at Intratuin. Due to major renovations, it is not possible to hold the event there. That’s why we’re coming to the villages instead. In Lochem and Harfsen, we’ll be at the weekly market, while in Gorssel, we’ll be at the green market organized by Grandparents for the Climate.
Do you know about Water & Green?
In recent years, we’ve been facing increasingly heavy rainfall. The sewer system cannot handle these amounts, causing streets and gardens to flood. We’re also seeing more frequent periods of extreme drought, with grass turning brown and young trees struggling. Additionally, the number of days with summer or tropical temperatures is rising. Elderly people, the sick, and young children are particularly vulnerable during heatwaves. Together, we can create a healthy, pleasant, and safe living environment. Do you know what you can do for water and green spaces?
