National Compost Day Saturday, March 28, 2026
This year, the municipality of Lopik is participating in National Compost Day! On Saturday, March 28, 2026, we will be distributing free compost as a thank you for properly separating vegetable, fruit, and garden waste (VFG). This is a great opportunity to prepare your garden for spring and contribute to a circular and sustainable living environment.
Collecting compost
On this day, you can collect loose compost using your trailer, bucket, or bag (while supplies last) at the municipal yard. Please bring something to transport the compost in.
Between 09:00 and 09:30, the alderman will also be present. The first residents to arrive will be assisted by the alderman in scooping the compost. Note: The municipal yard is open until 12:30 on Saturdays.
National Compost Day is an initiative of the Waste Management Association and is organized annually in collaboration with municipalities and VFG composters throughout the country.
