Mayor Moerkerke closed several premises at the Zwanengat industrial estate in Zevenbergen on Monday 23 March 2026. This followed the discovery of a large quantity of cocaine and cannabis.
As part of an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking, police discovered 1,857 kilos of cannabis and 1,021 kilos of cocaine in Zevenbergen last Monday. The drugs have been removed and destroyed. Police also seized several vehicles with hidden compartments and arrested four suspects.
