Municipality launches experience survey with trial screen along Koninginneweg
The municipality of Nijkerk has launched an (experience) survey along the Koninginneweg in Hoevelaken. The municipal council adopted a motion on this in November 2025. The municipality wants to install two screens near Mulderlaantje and Eiberlaan. That is why we are investigating how residents and road users experience such a screen.
The focus of this survey is on the perception of social safety, but also traffic safety.
Trial screen to measure experiences
On 16 April 2026, the municipality will install a trial screen of approximately 20 metres along the Koninginneweg, at the height of Eiberlaan, for one day. The screen is the same height as the screens that may be installed in this location.
The independent mobility advisory bureau XTNT will investigate over the coming weeks how people experience the area, both with and without the trial screen. They will mainly look at the sense of social safety and the quality of the living environment, before and during the trial screen. The noise reduction achieved with the screens is not a subject of this survey.
