Multi-year agenda for the rainbow municipality
An initiative has emerged from the monthly Rainbow Café in Roden (held on the second Wednesday afternoon of each month at Trefpunt Scheepstra from 19:30) to form a working group with residents of Noordenveld who wish to contribute to making the municipality even more inclusive for people with an LGBTQIA+ background.
Exploratory research conducted by the Rainbow Café in collaboration with the municipality, carried out by Trendbureau Drenthe, revealed that Noordenveld is already an inclusive municipality in many respects. However, several points for attention were also identified. For example, schools do not always appear to be a safe environment for students with an LGBTQIA+ background. There are also concerns about the well-being of older residents and loneliness within this group. And why do some transgender individuals find it difficult to obtain a referral for appropriate care?
We would like to discuss these and other points for attention with involved residents who are willing to take action themselves by helping us shape a multi-year agenda for the Rainbow Municipality of Noordenveld. If you are curious, please register your interest by sending an email to Dirk Postma before 20 April. We will then schedule a first exploratory meeting with all interested parties, during which a policy advisor from the municipality and a community worker from Welzijn in Noordenveld will also be present.
