Visit the Poldertoren on 17 and 18 April

On these days, the renovated Poldertoren will open its doors to visitors. After a thorough renovation, the tower is ready for the future. A visit to the platform, presentations on the renovation, and a performance at great height make a visit to the tower on these days unique.

During this opening, there is plenty to experience. From 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM, admire the Noordoostpolder from the platform at the top of the Poldertoren, take a look at the renovated wedding hall of the municipality or the hotel rooms of tenant 't Voorhuys. There will also be presentations on the renovation. In the evening, the tower serves as the backdrop for the unique outdoor performance ‘Het Erfgoedspektakel’. This is an initiative by BOEi and the Vriendenloterij, which provides a special way to end the day.

Poldertoren ready for the future again

The renovation, which began in April 2025, was necessary to preserve and strengthen the national monument. Moisture problems have been resolved and the structure has been reinforced while retaining its characteristic appearance. Various improvements have been made both inside and out, with special attention to wind and water resistance and additional reinforcement. Thanks to this makeover, the national monument will remain an iconic focal point of our municipality for generations to come.

Upon completion in April, the tower has been renovated and made ready for rental. Tenant 't Voorhuys is located on several floors with half a dozen hotel rooms. At the request of the college of mayor and aldermen, research is being conducted into whether the Cultural Historical Visitor Centre can also be accommodated in the tower. The outcome of this research will be presented to the municipal council later this year.
