Easter Fire Locations 2026
In April, we celebrate Easter. A wonderful tradition in our municipality is the lighting of the Easter fire. This year, too, several locations have been granted permission to light a fire.
Lighting fires outdoors is normally not permitted. This is to protect nature and people’s safety. However, an exception is made for Easter fires. The organisers must still adhere to certain rules. For example, a bonfire may not be higher than 8 metres, and there must be sufficient distance from buildings and roads.
Where will the Easter fires be?
The municipality has granted permits for the following locations:
- Bakkeveen: Mandefjild 4
- Frieschepalen: 't Tolhek 4
- Lippenhuizen: Trijehoek 13
- Siegerswoude: opposite Binnenwei 19
- Siegerswoude: Binnenwei 23
Handy tips for visitors
Are you planning to watch an Easter fire? Read these tips for a pleasant and safe evening:
- Keep your distance: For your own safety, stay at least 20 metres away from the fire. The heat can be intense.
- Watch out for the wind: Wear sturdy clothing. Wind can carry ash or sparks onto your clothes.
- Follow instructions: The organisers are responsible for safety. Always follow their instructions and those of the fire brigade.
- Check the weather: In very dry conditions or strong winds, the fire brigade may decide to cancel the fire. If in doubt, keep an eye on local news.
