Hot meal and assistance with energy savings
On Monday, March 30, the municipality of Opsterland organized a Buurthappie for the first time. In the village hall of Langezwaag, residents of the village gathered for a free hot meal and information on energy savings.
While enjoying a free stamppot meal, residents of Langezwaag were briefed by the energy coaches Bonne and Wietse on energy-saving measures. The two gentlemen demonstrated with a thermal camera how to assess where heat escapes from a home, and with a consumption meter, they showed how much can be saved by replacing incandescent bulbs with LED lights. For some residents, this prompted them to immediately schedule an appointment with the energy coaches.
During the Buurthappie, the neighborhood consultant from Elkien was present to answer questions from tenants. Several residents took advantage of this opportunity to ask questions about their rental home or to share ideas that could improve the livability in the neighborhood. In addition, attendees could turn to Plaatselijk Belang and the village support point of Langezwaag for assistance with various types of help requests—from help filling out forms to brainstorming about temporary medical aids such as a wheelchair.
Energy coaches are also active in your village. Would you like help reducing your energy bill and making your home more comfortable? Then send an email to energie@opsterland.nl or call or text energy coordinator Jeroen Spoelstra at 06-22278853.
