Youth Ribbon for children and young people actively contributing to society
This year, the Youth Ribbon will be awarded for the second time in Oude IJsselstreek. With this ribbon, the municipality expresses its appreciation for children and young people who make a special effort to help others and contribute to society.
Providing intensive assistance, organizing clean-up actions for litter, raising money for charity, helping peers become cyber-savvy, setting up sports and play activities in the neighbourhood, or supporting someone in learning the Dutch language – these are all fine examples of selfless contributions that deserve recognition. The municipality wishes to encourage and reward such efforts.
Mayor Laura Werger: “All around us, children and young people are making extraordinary efforts to help others. This commitment deserves recognition and should not go unnoticed. Do you know someone who deserves a Youth Ribbon? This is your chance to nominate them.”
Nominating someone
Schools, clubs, associations, neighbourhood committees, media, family members, neighbours and friends: anyone can nominate children and young people up to and including the age of 22. The focus is on young people who have made a sustained effort to help others and/or contribute to society, or who have made a valuable contribution through a special activity. Nominations can be submitted until May 1, 2026, via: www.oude-ijsselstreek.nl/jeugdlintje.
Nominations must be accompanied by signed recommendations from at least two people supporting the nomination. These supporters may not be first-degree relatives. At least one of them must be of legal age.
