Maintenance work on bridge in Terborg
On behalf of the Rijn and IJssel Water Board, construction company Strukton Power from Zwolle will carry out maintenance and replacement work on the bridge over the Old IJssel between Etten and Terborg.
Work activities
The contractor will replace, among other things, the control system, cameras, and barriers. During test phases, the bridge will regularly open and close. There will also be lorries, work traffic, and materials on the carriageway in front of the bridge.
Planned work with delays and closure
The work on and around the bridge will take a total of 4 weeks. The contractor will carry out the work in two phases.
- During phase 1, half of the carriageway will be closed with traffic controllers (outside peak hours).
- During phase 2, the road/bridge will be completely closed to all traffic, both day and night!
Traffic will be diverted via signage onto adjacent roads. Slow traffic can then use a temporary cycle/footbridge next to the existing bridge. This is between the GAMMA site and the THO site, available from approximately 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Outside these hours, a passage over the existing bridge will be kept open for pedestrians and cyclists.

Start of work: Monday, 30 March 2026 at 9:00 AM. (Already started)End of work: Friday, 17 April 2026 at approximately 3:00 PM.
