Questions about work? Visit the Work Centre
Residents looking for a new job or aiming to advance in their careers can visit the Work Centre Groot Amsterdam. The Work Centre supports employees, job seekers and employers alike. Anyone with questions about employment, (re)training or career advice is welcome. Employers can also turn to the centre for staffing and vacancy-related queries. All consultations are free of charge.
Last week marked the official nationwide launch of the work centres. Alderman for Work and Income, Erika Spil, said: “Residents of Ouder-Amstel can also visit the Work Centre, whether you are employed or not. Perhaps you are considering a career change? Or are you looking for work now that your children are older? The Work Centre staff can assist with advice or training options. The centre is also available to employers in need of staff.”
For residents and entrepreneurs
The Work Centre brings everything together in one location. Municipalities, the UWV (Employee Insurance Agency), employer organisations, trade unions and educational institutions share their knowledge and experience. Thanks to this collaboration, there is no need to figure out where to go. Work Centre staff are happy to discuss options for finding (new) employment or suitable staff. Employers can also seek advice on staffing, training and growth. More information and current opening hours: werkcentrumgrootamsterdam.nl.
Greater Amsterdam
Every region in the Netherlands will have a work centre from 2026 onwards. Ouder-Amstel falls under the Work Centre Groot Amsterdam.
