Municipality, police and City Team to move to the Culture House from late April
For many matters that currently require a visit to the City Office, you will be able to go to the Culture House (Kluwen 9, Oudewater) from late April onwards.
This includes, for example, driver’s licences, passports, and registrations of births or deaths, as well as appointments with the City Team and the police. At the City Office, Habion and De Wulverhorst will be setting up residential units for people with dementia from 1 May onwards.
February and March: renovation of the Culture House
To create suitable counters and workspaces in the Culture House, an internal renovation is required. This will begin on 9 February. From 16 February, the spring school holiday will start, during which the contractor will carry out the work that causes the most disruption in the building. After the spring holiday, the focus will mainly be on finishing touches. The renovation will be completed by the end of March.
Library closed from 9 to 21 February
The library has decided to close from Monday 9 February to Saturday 21 February. More information about this can be found on www.bibliotheekuv.nl.
May holiday: relocation
During the May holiday (starting 20 April), the municipal public counter, the police, and the City Team will move to the Culture House. This is intended to minimise disruption for schools.
Open house on 5 February
For local residents and other interested parties, we will be hosting an open house on Thursday 5 February from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM. You can view the construction plans and ask questions. Everyone is welcome.
Final destination: the City’s Living Room
The municipality, the police, and the City Team will temporarily move to the Culture House. Eventually, they will be based in De Klepper, which will first undergo renovation to become the City’s Living Room. This will also provide space for the library, associations, and hospitality businesses. The renovation is expected to be completed in a few years.
