Apartments at Achterdijk 26-30 ready for new residents next year
On Monday, March 16, the construction hoarding featuring an impression of the new building at Achterdijk in Purmerend was unveiled. Contractor ToekomstGroep is building 27 new apartments at Achterdijk.
The unveiling was performed by developer Cor Mooij of GreenFields TAD, managing director Wiesje van der Weide of Wooncompagnie, and alderman Pascal Verkroost. Construction of the new homes is progressing well. The first residents are expected to receive the keys in early 2027.
Cor Mooij: ‘At Achterdijk, we are carefully constructing modern and sustainable homes. Step by step, a new building is taking shape where people will soon be able to live with great pleasure. At the start, we experienced some delay after discovering historical remnants, including traces of an old footpath. After careful archiving by the archaeologists, we were able to proceed. We are pleased that everything has been going according to plan so far.’ Wiesje van der Weide: ‘With these 8 social rental homes, we are offering house hunters a new home right in the heart of Purmerend. In such a central location, there is plenty of space for encounters, with the vibrancy of the city centre just around the corner and the comfort of a new, energy-efficient apartment.’ Pascal Verkroost adds: ‘These apartments are a welcome and fitting addition to our city centre. The historically inspired architecture blends well with the surroundings, and as a future resident, you will soon be living in a beautiful location. On the edge of our charming town, with the Koemarkt and a wide range of amenities just around the corner.’
The plan
A total of 27 apartments with a historically inspired appearance will be built at this location, meeting the 30-30-40 standard and the frameworks for climate-adaptive construction. 8 of these homes will be social rental properties, to be rented out through Wooncompagnie. With the exception of 2 units, all the owner-occupied homes have already been sold. Future residents will not be issued parking permits, but there will be ample bicycle parking spaces for both residents and visitors. There are also plenty of public transport options nearby.
