Presentation of Rijswijk Honour Pins
On Sunday, March 8th, the exhibition ‘Fibers of Life’ was opened by mayor Huri Sahin at Museum Rijswijk. The exhibition showcases monumental paper art by the Rijswijk-based artist couple Pat Gentenaar-Torley and Peter Gentenaar.
During this festive opening at the Oude Kerk, both artists were put in the spotlight by alderman Mark Wit and were awarded the Rijswijk Honour Pin for their initiative to establish the first seven Paper Biennales. These Paper Biennales have made a special contribution to the culture in our city and have given both the Museum and Rijswijk international recognition. Hopefully, this special overview exhibition will lead to a rediscovery of their work.
