Invitation: Open House Event for the Development of the Breskens Port Area
Tuesday, March 31 – Breskens Yacht Club
The port area of Breskens is undergoing dynamic development! The location is being transformed into a maritime, rugged space, befitting a village with a rich fishing heritage. The construction of apartments, a sea sailing center, and the fish center De Zaete will give shape to this bold character. The design of the public spaces is also being renewed—step by step.
Come see the design for Phase 1
A design for the first phase is now available. We would like to present this design to you during an open house event on Tuesday, March 31. You are cordially invited to attend between:
- 4:30 PM and 6:00 PM
- 7:00 PM and 8:30 PM
The event will take place at the restaurant of Breskens Yacht Club (Oosthavendam 1-3). No registration is required—you can drop in during these time slots at your convenience.
What will you see at the event?
BoschSlabbers Landscape Architects is responsible for the designs of the public spaces in the entire project area. Phase 1 focuses on the area around the Handelshaven—specifically the space in front of De Zaete, Pharos Residence, and the Middenhavendam. We are creating an attractive square in front of De Zaete. The new public space will include, among other things:
- Greenery and planting
- Parking spaces
- Street furniture
This will result in an inviting area that encourages people to linger.
Meet the involved parties
During the open house event, representatives from the Municipality of Sluis, developer Caffarelli, and BoschSlabbers Landscape Architects will be present. They will explain the drawings and are happy to engage in conversation with you. Of course, there will be ample opportunity to ask questions. After this event, the design will be further developed into a final version.
